Hi, I'm Verena - Nice to meet you!
Born and raised in the south of Germany, I've always had a strong affinity for words. As a teenager, I was an avid reader and shared my own writing on poetry slam stages. Right after finishing school, my love for pub culture and speaking English inspired me to move to the United Kingdom.
Several years and a degree in literature later, I began channeling my passion for language into teaching German. Working with people from all over the world brought me so much joy that I went on to earn a certification from the Goethe-Institut as well as a Master’s degree in German as a Foreign Language.
Since completing my studies, I have been teaching full-time. Over the years, I have guided numerous students toward mastery of the German language and greatly enjoy listening to their stories and perspectives. My work never becomes dull, as I am constantly discovering new insights into different learning styles, exploring new techniques and methods, and continually refining my teaching. My students do not only learn from me — I learn from them as well.
Diversity is what drives me. I have lived in various places, most recently in Switzerland and currently in Southeast Asia. Along the way, I pursue my fascination with cultures, my spirit of exploration, and my passion for photography.

how i teach
As a teacher I’m lively, empathetic, and very structured. My students love my sense of humor, my positive energy, and the relaxed atmosphere where they feel confident to speak.
My philosophy is simple: learning should be engaging, personal, and relevant to everyday life. Speaking comes first, and grammar and structure grow naturally alongside it.
My lessons are communicative, practical, and tailored to you. We start by identifying your goals, interests, and needs, so every session is meaningful and personal. I believe that when learning feels relevant and you can be yourself, progress happens fastest.
I provide corrections, detailed notes, and feedback, but I’ll also remind you that mistakes are part of the journey—and encourage you to speak freely! Learning starts in our sessions, but the real progress happens afterward. That’s why I give personalized tips so you can keep improving effectively in your daily life.
